Who we are

Placeholder

A British–Finnish family building hospitality, heritage, and home in Arctic Lakeland Finland.

We are Craig & Kaisa — a British–Finnish couple raising four kids, two dogs, and a life we’re building piece by piece in the heart of , also known as Arctic Lakeland.

Our work combines:

  • Arctic atmosphere

  • Farm heritage

  • Table & hospitality culture

Together, we’ve created restaurants, a brewery, accommodation, and most importantly — a home rooted in nature, food, and community.

Our Story:

From London to Arctic Lakeland

We didn’t plan a dramatic life change — we followed a feeling.

We met by chance. Built a life in .
Started dreaming.
And in 2015, we made the biggest decision of our twenties:

We left London with no savings, a 12‑month‑old baby, a dog, and a shared belief that we could build something meaningful in Finland.

We moved north — far north — to Kaisa’s 5th‑generation family farm.
A place with history, stories, and quiet potential.

What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead.

What We’re Building

At the center of everything is one mission:

Create experiences that bring people together — through food, nature, and story.

Over the last decade, we’ve co‑founded and grown several hospitality ventures, including:

  • The Haapala brewery & restaurant

  • Pioppo in

  • Kuppi & Kaneli in

And now, Arctic Farm Table — the place we share the behind-the-scenes life of building them all.

Our Farm:
Heritage You Can Feel

The heart of Arctic Farm Table is the 90‑year‑old dairy barn we spent two and a half years restoring from the ground up.

It was never a simple renovation.
It was a test of patience, grit, and partnership.

We stripped the building to its log bones.
Carried wood from our own forest.
Rebuilt foundations by hand.
Worked through Arctic winters with snow up to our knees.

And in 2018, we opened our first restaurant and brewery — a space that honors Finnish food culture and welcomes people from all over the world.

What You’ll Find at Arctic Farm Table

This blog and platform is where we share:

ARCTIC

Nature, seasons, slow living, atmosphere, expat life in the north.

FARM

Heritage, renovation stories, family culture, the history behind our businesses.

TABLE

Food philosophy, Scandinavian gastronomy, behind-the-scenes of running restaurants & a brewery.

We’re not influencers.
We’re not selling a course.
We’re documenting a life — our life — and inviting you to the table.

Because stories matter.

Because Arctic Lakeland is special.
Because people everywhere are searching for connection, honesty, and inspiration.

And because we want to create a place where our children can grow with roots — and where guests can feel at home.
